Mission Statement
Humanity United in Giving Internationally, Inc. (HUG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing dignity to the the lives of children wherever we find them-locally, nationally, and internationally through loving, touching, and care.
Humanity United in Giving Internationally, Inc. (HUG) was founded in 1990. HUG supports hospitals and orphanages in areas where economic deprivation, war, or natural disasters have resulted in poor living conditions and where the children’s care is inadequate for normal growth and
development. Our mission is three-fold. We provide:

-Physical and emotional nurturing
-Medical and educational training
-Humanitarian aid

It is our belief that each child has the God-given right to grow up and live with dignity in a safe and supportive environment, and to have the opportunity to become a responsible, productive adult within his or her community. We advocate honor, respect, trust, humanity, and brotherhood as foundations upon which to build the structure necessary to support environmental and attitudinal changes needed to make our programs effective. We believe
our most important role is providing training programs that assist institutional directors and their staffs in identifying the needs of the children under their care and turning those needs into achievable goals and programs. HUG does this through education and by modeling appropriate behaviors and skills. We help structure care-givers’ job descriptions to emphasize physical and emotional nurturing. HUG emphasizes hugging, touching, and playing as crucial elements of a child’s development.

While it is critically important to work with children on a one-to-one basis to meet their social, emotional, and educational needs, it is also essential to improve the structural facilities of the orphanages or dwelling to meet the children’s basic needs for heat, warm water, nutritious food, potable water, and adequate, sanitary living conditions. When possible, HUG Internationally meets these needs, including hiring HUG staff to model out mandates, and assure that the children are getting the love, nurturing, and nourishment they so need and deserve.

In addition to sending medical and service teams to Romania, HUG Internationally, Inc. also receives, packs, ships, and distributes food, medical supplies, dietary products, clothing, toys, and other supplies valued at an average of two to three million dollars per year. HUG supports several other non-profit organizations locally and globally by providing aid such as clothes, toys, furniture, medical supplies, and equipment so they can continue to serve children in many countries thorough the metroplex and the world. Through this humanitarian aid, we help meet some of the children’s most basic needs – in the U.S. and abroad. HUG receives monetary donations from individuals, foundations, churches, and corporations, which are used for capital improvements, program implementation and administration, and emergency relief.
