Sponsors Are Needed
With HUG, you can sponsor a child to help meet their basic needs for $20 a month. For $25-$75 a month, you can sponsor a Bunica (Romanian for a grandmother) to assure that each child can every day receive love, care, nurturing, and a big HUG! The director of the Department of Child Protection both locally and nationally have continually been amazed at the differences they say not only in in the children but in the staff as well, after HUG employees join their institution. Children who have never spoke are saying words and full sentences,. Children deemed "unteachable" are walking, conquering, and hearing things they would never have been able to do." The miracles of love and care are present in ever child touched by the love of a HUG employee. Sponsorship of a child ensures clean water, hot food (three full, healthy meals), medicine, and basic needs for supplies for school, assuring that they grow to be happy, constructive, contributing adults. Your monthly gift provides a lifetime of care.

How we're different from some other sponsor programs:

All of the $20 a month you give goes toward the care of a child by sponsoring a grandmother. You are supporting HUG's work and their efforts for the orphans in Romania. Nothing is kept for administrative or fundraising needs. You receive no fancy kits, saving our resources for our focus on the children. You will receive a letter and a photo describing your grandmother, and an updated photograph taken when the teams visits. All donations are, of course, tax deductible. You may want to purchase small gifts for birthdays and/or holidays. These are hand delivered to your grandmother along with a special HUG from you. Sponsors are invited to become a member of a HUG service team, and are welcome to come meet their grandmother in person.
